Tiago Santiago is a Brazilian screenwriter, born and raised in Rio de Janeiro.
He has won the highly prestigious São Paulo Association of Art Critics Award (2006) as Writer and Creator of TV series A Escrava Isaura / The slave Isaura (Record TV, 2004) and Prova de Amor / Proof of Love (Record TV, 2005).
Santiago is a 4-time Premio Contigo Award (considered Oscars of Brazilian TV) nominee as Best Writer 2005, 2006, 2008,2009. He has also been nominated twice Premio Qualidade Award (Quality Awards) as Best Writer (Television). Quality Awards ceremonies take place since 1977 and have different versions in 21 countries.
Tiago Santiago’s TV series transcend national and cultural boundaries and have achieved global audience with great commercial success and record-breaking television ratings in many different countries.
Possessions, Gold Medal of Spotlight Horror Awards, Los Angeles, USA, is the first film he has written, directed and produced. The movie was shot in Rio de Janeiro, original audio in Portuguese with English subtitles.
Graduated in Social Sciences, with MA in Sociology, Tiago has recently moved to Los Angeles. Being a lifelong lover of horror genre, Tiago Santiago is currently working on the American version of Possessions.
